Thursday and Friday spins of course...and hydration!

Thursday- My plan was to run 2-4 miles in my recovery zone in the morning and teach my 90 minute spin at night.
What actually went down was just teaching, which was fine by me! My daughter had a half day on Thursday and was actually dismissed a full hour sooner that I thought. That did not leave me enough time to get to the gym ( booo hooo).
My 90 minute high intensity spin was a lot of fun. Last week I guess I was just getting my feet wet. I actually stopped sweating last week whilst teaching...not good.
I learned my lesson this time. I was a sweating fool- sweatin' like a dude for the entire class. Whew and gross. It was a good session though so that is all that really matters.
After class ( it ends at 8:45 PM) I am too wired and hungry and awake to sleep. But I have to, since I have to get right back up at 4:15 AM to teach my 5:30 AM spin. Well, being hydrated helped me out again. Last Friday upon waking up I felt DRY and tired(exhausted is more like it). Today I just felt tired. Success!
Friday- Spin at 5:30 AM-strength intervals. Nice and deceptively difficult ( so I was told). I planned on hopping on the elliptical for 15 minutes, but that quickly turned into 35 after my buddy spotted me and we gabbed for a little too long. Ooops!
I went back to the gym with intentions of running 4 miles since my goal is to do 10 miles before Sunday! Well....I ran 2 and then walked about 15 minutes on the treadmill. My previous workouts caught up to me. But, I was still hydrated. Take that!
I have an idea in my head at this moment ( 11:10 PM) that I might run 6 miles tomorrow--outside! Stay tuned.....

Saturday!

Saturday~
Kind of a hurried workout today.......

Elliptical for 35 minutes..I tried to keep my HR steady ad not to drop below 150 bpm.......I pretty much did that.
I then hopped on the treadmill and did a 30:30 interval...The mile ended up being in 8:30 which is not too bad for interval style- I guess. I then walked for about 8 minutes or so on an incline still trying to keep my HR at 150. My Garmin says my avg. HR for my whole workout was 147....close enough!
I have a big road bike ride planned for tomorrow...the weather should be AWESOME...high of 77*!!! We hope to get in 50 miles..probably tack on a few more for good measure--maybe!

Tomorrow is the Chicago Marathon. Good luck to everyone and I am looking forward to reading all of your race recaps!

Wednesday- spinning and a quick run and I'm tired.

Pretty tired this morning. I woke up nauseous. I am not sure if it was because I was dehydrated or the sugar buzz ( Hot Tamales-I earned them dang it!!) Maybe a combo of both?!? Anyways, the morning started off like that. Nauseous! blah.

Spinning was at 10 Am...I planned on taking it easy, but I always get caught up in the music and ride. My legs were pretty tired and so was the rest of my body. I had big plans of running long after Spin, but the heat, humidity and lunch with my husband changed my mind. Ahhhh. A nap would have been nice as well, but hey. I know that was not happening.

I did make it back to the gym and got in a fast 2.1 miles. So I have that going for me. I am not sure I will make my goal of 20 miles before the week is over.

Sunday

Sunday~ 1 mile run on treadmill followed by 40 minute Spin class followed by 1 mile run on treadmill. I also lifted weights for upper body.
My first mile was 8:45 and my 2nd mile was 8:16.
3x10

A.
Shoulder Press
Biceps Curl

B.
Chest Press
Reverse Flye

C.
Triceps Ext.
Rotator Cuff stuff

Today's workout was impromptu all the way. I really wanted to do my long run. I really did. I first contemplated doing 10 miles and then 8 and then it was past 12 noon and hot and humid. I then thought to run 5 to six and then ride my bike. Well, I did none of those! Ugh. I was able to get to the gym though and did something-even my measly 2 miles today-- only 18 more to go to reach my goal for this week!

Is It Friday Yet!?!?!

I am exhausted today. Totally pooped. Miles was up a few times last night. He has some weird cough, nasal drippage going on. Poor guy. I am dragging today. But, alas-- we were able to get to the gym on this 80* day! It was in the low 60's by 9am and my poor kids had coats on! Ooops! I let them leave the coats in the car though. It was warm.
At the gym I did a quick 3 x 10- chest and triceps circuit:
Chest Press
Tri Dips
Push ups
Tri Press
Chest Flye
Lying Triceps Ext.
1 minute break and repeat.
Um yea. This hurt me. It hurt me soo good!
I almost did 4 sets, but chickened out since my poor arms were shakin' by set 2!
I know time off from lifting is good for me, but it sure stinks trying to get back in the swing of things! The good thing is though, that I took enough time off so I actually MISS lifting weights. YAY!
I also attempted to run on the treadmill today.
I did some sort of speed work. 400 repeats with an equal time rest. I may have done 8. I stopped counting after 4. My goal was 5 but I know I did more!
My breathing was so-so. I attempted to use my own breathing techniques to get through it. I won't say it worked (cuz I have NO idea what I was doing), but I pushed through and ran almost 5 miles when I was done with the intervals and warm up and cool down. That lifted my spirits a bit!
Later on I taught 3*2*1. I counted this as my core work for today. It was all standing ab work for total of 6 minutes. I did not add any plyometrics to my workout today-maybe tomorrow after spin class.....maybe.
Friday I am going shopping my girl Mary! Wooot! I better go to bed now so it's Friday sooner.

Monday-Spin and a few miles on the tread.

Spinning Monday. I got my inspiration for today's class from the Power Spin class I took on Saturday. It's a good thing because the class loved it. Whew! It was a muscle tension ride. LOADS of endurance today. 1 minute steep hill followed by 1 minute of endurance-3 times total-recover and repeat!! I added a 4 minute endurance segment to the end with added resistance every minute. Talk about hard. It was good though. I enjoyed it and so did my class. I think it will be one of those love/hate classes ( it was for me anyway).
Totally Toned was at noon. Lots of abs today and core in general.
I made a hasty decision and went back to the gym later today too. I felt I had to "make up" some of the miles I did not do yesterday. I was not feeling guilty about the missed miles. I just feel I NEED to get my mileage up if I think I have a chance at meeting my goal. As I stated before I just don't feel as in shape this time around and that STINKS!! I ended up warming up for a half mile with a 9MM pace and then I did my goal pace of 7:45 for 2.5 miles. It felt good. I tried to pay attention to my breathing and it did get a bit erratic for a minute or 5..BUT I am still not convinced it's not all in my head. I plan on taking a puff on my inhaler ( for allergies) before tomorrows speed session ( 1000 meter repeats-kill me now) and see if that makes any difference at all. I hope so. I also have the OK for the race this Saturday. I still need to sign up! Procastination. Love it.

"Hyper" Tuesday Tempo and Wednesday Spin

I would fist like to post that I did 30 minutes of power yoga on Tuesday afternoon! Who cares that the workout was 45 minutes long... ha! It was no joke. It was very difficult--in a good way of course. I am so glad it was all in the comfort of my living room. Nobody could see me--just the dog and I am sure he would have laughed if he had not been sleeping.

On to Tuesday night. Running! On tap was a 2 mile warm up with a 4 mile tempo and then a 2 mile cool down. It was the first constant tempo run of the season. I planned on running between 7:50 and 8:00 mile pace. The first 2 miles felt pretty darned great. I had 2 running buddies with me. Katie is the pacer. She is so good at it. We were averaging a 7:53 pace. I was at mile 2.25 or something and I had to stop. I am still not sure what made me stop. I took a few steps (walking) and started to immediately hyperventilate! It was ( still is) the strangest thing! I could not catch my breath. So naturally I started to panic more which led to more hyper ventilation. Awesome. I walked about .25 miles with everyone passing me wondering what the heck was wrong with me. I said I was fine to everyone though. I probably finished the tempo ( with a few walk breaks again) at an 8:30 ish or better pace. I have no idea what happened. I still felt some tightness in my chest at the end of the run and when I got home. I told the coach about it and he seemed a bit concerned. I told him I always hyperventilate during the 25k....it never fails. I get all emotional with about 2 miles left or so and can't breath ( it's all metal!!). I assured him I have no emotional ties/connections to the 4 mile tempo we run around Reed's Lake!
I wish I knew why it happened and it makes me a bit worried for the race I want to do on the 20th. If it's mental I need to figure out why and NOT do whatever it is I am doing again! If it's physical (I am sure it's not--haha) I would like to remedy it fast. I skipped the cool down and went home!

I woke up Wednesday very, very tired. I am sure it had something to do with going to bed around 12 midnight (again!!) and then being woken up by a certain 5 year old with a headache and a cough! Poor girl. So I was up worrying about her ( she was fast asleep) for almost an hour. I was up by 7 AM to finish planning my Spin class. Oh and that certain 5 year old was awake already.
Spin class went well. I had coffee. I have been "off" of my morning coffee for months. Literally. It tasted so damn good too. I had to find the coffee maker and dust it off. I had 1 filter left! WHEW!!! I would have been so mad if I didn't. So needless to say I was hyper again. Not hyperventilation this time. Just hyper-caffeinated. It was a great interval style class. I made it up while watching The Biggest Loser last night.

I did 2 minute intervals (each move was 2 minutes..so maybe 6-8 minutes of work) with 1 minute rest. There was a 2.5 minute sprint/recovery segment ( sprints were 15 seconds, recovery was 25 seconds and repeat until the 2.5 minutes was up) I think the class enjoyed that. I am not one to have loads of sprints in a row--not realistic-but oh so FUN!
Totally Toned was at noon. I made the workout up on the spot. Sometimes those turn out to be my best work. Sometimes not so much! I think today's off the cuffness (is that a word?)went over well. I hope.
So that was my day. So far my plan is to get up early and run 5-6 miles on the tread and maybe lift weights. I am not sure I want to bring my girl to the gym day care. We will see how tonight goes--we both might not get to the gym. That's OK. Her health is more important than a workout!
I guess my Stuffitts Giveaway was not a good one??? I really like it. Your odds of winning are HUGE!! It ends in about 2.5 hours!!!!

Thursdays--Jam Packed!

Thursday~
I went to the gym to do my speed workout. It was to be (8) 400m at 1:37.
This is how it went:

1. 1:49

2. 1:39

3. 1:37

4. 1:37

5. 1:36

6. 138

7. 136

8. 1:34

I was able to recover fully between sprints. It's not the same doing this on the treadmill vs. going outside, but at 5 AM, by myself I had no other choice.
I did an abbreviated warm up and cool down. I then hopped on the elliptical for 30 minutes so I could read an atricle or 2 in the latest's Runner's World.
I went back to the gym to get my weight workout in with my friend.

3x8:

Negative Pull-Ups

Walking Lunges

Push ups

Plank Rows

Leg Press

I just stated teaching a new group exercise class on Thursdays as well. 3*2*1 is the name. After the 6 minute warm up: 3 minutes of cardio, 2 minutes of "toning"with weights/bars/body-weight, and 1 minute of core and then you repeat it all! I am a stickler for time, so when said minutes are up- we move it on to the next thing. I explain the exercises as we jump right into them. It was a good group. There were some familiar faces and some new ones too. I was a bit nervous myself. It has been over a year I think since I have had a regular (non-Spin!) cardio class. I guess it's just like riding a bike. I did fine. I did not trip or anything and my rhythm has not left me. Whew!

Saturday-- should have stayed in bed today!

I was as reared up to go as I could force myself to be this morining. I knew what i had in store. 5-6 1 mile tempo runs on the treadmill with a 60 seconds rest in between. I also had a time limit as Matt has to work today.
I did a mile warm up at an 8:30 pace. After that I stretched for about 3 minutes or so and then I was off. My first tempo mile was at 7:35 pace. I felt pretty crappy at the half way mark, but I finished. I took the minute rest and did the next mile at a 7:30 pace. I figured I wanted to get done already. Now on to mile 3. This is where it went sour. I did it in maybe a 8 minute pace. It felt like I was going way slower. It was a total struggle too. I think I did a whole mile, maybe it was a bit short. I took my 1 minute break...and turned it into a 5 minute walk break! yikes. I was done. FAIL! Oh well. I was ticked off then, but now I realize I should have probably taken the day off or done a low-key type of cardio and saved the speed nonsense for Sunday! Too late. I will (most likely) take tomorrow off completely. I almost went home after my pitiful attempt at speed, but of course I did not. I only did 20 minutes on the elliptical though. What a day. We all have our bad days from time to time and today was my day!
Hopefully the rest of my day goes well....(Miles is potty training, and so far..we are batting 0!)

Thursday-Long Run(treadmill style)

I hate the treadmill. Yet, I am thankful I can use it to get what I need done-done. I made it to the gym a little later than planned. I think I started watching The Olympics or something and lost track of time. Ooops!
I actually felt really strong and good during most of the run. I added some inclines and varying speed along the way. At about mile 4 or so the treadmill I was on started misbehaving. It was unbalanced all of a sudden! Total bummer. There are a lot of treadmills at my gym, ,but I did not want to waste time looking for "the perfect" one -Again! I liked the one I was on..it did not make too much noise and the TV was already on Closed Captioned! I like that so I can "read" the news and listen to my iPod at the same time. Multi-tasker is my middle name (actually It's Dawn!)
So that leads me to my new treadmill. The closed caption was not on (boo!) besides that all went well....well besides my iPod ear phones acting up. They stopped working in the unit, but worked in the TV. Ugh. So annoying! I got through it. What was I talking about? Oh right..running! I tried to stop and drink every 30 minutes or so, just as I would have done if I was running outdoors. It's always harder to start up when you are by yourself I think. I kept about a 9 minute pace since I threw in a few 7:45 pace (not for a whole mile though). I was a sweaty mess. My hips have been kind of tight lately as well, not liking that feeling. I almost stopped my run with less then 3 miles left. I was kind of late starting and I did not want to be late getting home so Matt could leave for work. I texted him to let him know I had 1 mile left and did not hear back from him...so I just took that as he was OK with it. I guess it could have meant he never got the message since he was busy with the kids too. Oooops. He seemed fine when i got home so I will still assume he got my message.
I did go back to the gym fr core work. I am not sure if that is dedication or stupidity. I got the kids dressed. Changed my clothes and ate quickly and was back at the gym. I was there less than 1 hour before! I am glad I went back. I did not stretch enough after the run so I used the next hour to stretch and do core. I would write what I did, but I don't know the proper names of a few of the exercises! So here is some of what I did!
Hip circles
planks (variations)
Roll ups
weighted obliques
cat and cow
2 more!
Repeat everything!
Lots of stretching before, between and after all sets were done.
It was a great day!

Weights and a short run....tired momma today.

I was not sure I would make it to the gym today and I was not even the least bit sad!
My little girl was up until 11 PM last night. She's not sick; she just was not tired. I had BIG plans of getting up at 5 AM and going to the gym to run my prescribed 6 miles today. Nope. I slept until I was summoned by Miles at 7 Am or so. Surprisingly, Amara was wide awake by 7:15 and we were all dressed and out the door by 8:45 AM..this NEVER happens. I was not even rushing anyone ( I swear!) as I usually tend to do. I was the slow one today. I am glad I went and all that, but I am dragging butt right now.
I did a circuit training workout today. 3 sets of 12:

Circuit A:
walk-out push ups
step-ups
pistol rows

Circuit B:
squat jumps
lateral raises
plank jacks

WHEW!
I am not sure what I was thinking when I made this up last night! It was kind of fun.
I knew that I would not have enough time to run 6 miles so I decided to run 3 on the treadmill.
It actually felt really good. I thought I might go back to the gym after my girl is out of school to do 3 more-NOPE. I am about to hit the showers instead! I see a trip to the library with the kids after school instead!
My race is on Saturday. I can't get it to show that on my little Daily Mile widget on the right of the blog! I am kind of nervous. It's only a 5k. Those hurt. A lot. Being nervous is good though right!?! If I was not then that would be kind of snotty and arrogant! I would like to think I am neither of those things! :)
So nice to be all done for the day!

Sunday REST Day?? No way!

I decided to go to the gym and use the treadmill for my speed session I did not do on Thursday.
2 mile warm up followed by 2 minutes fast and 2 minutes slower x 6. I made it a progressive workout. Whew. It was tough, but I knew it was only for 2 minutes and then i would get to slow down. 2 minutes is a long time though. I topped out at 9.0 mph for my last fast 2 minutes. Glad that's over! I then did a 2 mile cool down which was one mile jogging and 1 mile walking. I actually walked more than a mile because I started getting into this movie on FX called Death Sentence starring Kevin Bacon. The 15 minute foot chase scene I watched got me hooked. The movie was made in 2007 and I remember wanting to see it. Of course, it's not coming on again anytime soon.
Anyway.... after my workout I felt really great. I felt a lot better than I normally do on a Sunday. I know it's because I did my long run earlier in the week and not on Saturday. Even though the 70 minute Power Spin kicked my butt-- it's no match for a 10 mile run!

Friday--Long Run.

I did my longish run this evening on the crappy trusty treadmill. We are beginning to be friends (more like enemies) these days. I don't even know my pace for the 10 miles I put in today. Don't care either! I am just happy to be DONE!!
I did not find my running "groove" until about 6 miles in..so those first 6 were not so much fun for me. My plan was to do 11 miles. At mile 6 I had to talk myself into going for 8, so 10 seemed like a accomplishment to me! WHEW!
I stretched afterwards and came home to a nice dinner of a chicken breast, squash and sweet potato. Yum Yum!

SO glad that's over! ( the run, not my dinner!)

Wednesday and Thursday stuff.......

Well Wednesday was an off day. I know. I had a complete day or rest on Sunday!! Oh well. My kids were up all night Tuesday and early Wednesday morning. No sleep for anyone so I was a nice mommy and let my girl sleep in until almost 10am ( the start of my spin class) Thank goodness I found a sub at the LAST minute!! My kids always come first. They both had/have some weird hacking cough that naturally is worse at night! All the honey in the world was not going to "cure" them. They are both doing so much better now.

I was able to get to my 12 noon class though. I was not much of a good instructor I might admit...they seemed to get a good workout, but I felt off my usual game. I was sooo tired. I can work through it usually, but I was going on 3-4 not so good hours of sleep. Whew.

On to Thursday.

I am still behind in my sleep, but was able to make it to the gym this morning for weight training. Still doing the same circuit, but that will change next Tuesday. I think my training partner is ready to step up his game as well. It was a good one today. 4x10. No time for core today, but we did stretch for a good 8 minutes!

I also went back to the gym to do my speed workout on the good old treadmill. Today was a fartlek workout (Training in which the pace is varied from a fast sprint to slow jogging).

It's hard to pace on the treadmill, but I did most of them at 7.6 mph up to 8.2 mph. It was 2 minutes fast 2 minutes slow jogging. 8 times. Oh what fun! I attempted to go to my beloved kickboxing class right after. I snuck in the back and lasted about 8 minutes ( the warm up! So sad), but I listened to my body and it was in need of some nourishment. No need to be all crazy stupid in the name of extra cardio! And besides I am kicking the idea of getting my long run in tomorrow morning. Ugh. Long treadmill run by myself. I should get to be d now. 4:14 AM will be here soon.

Tuesday-- hill sprints and weight training

Today was the normal Tuesday combo- weights in the morning and cardio in the evening.
I am so scheduled.
Weight circuits plus core work and stretching at 9:30PM.
I was unable to make it to the hill sprints with my running clubs so I did it on the treadmill (sigh). It was not so bad. The only thing I slack on is the warm up and cool down. I am to run a 1.5 miles for both. I did .5 for both! I figure it's better to slack on that and then the actual workout. That's my story and I am sticking to it! Hill pick - up sprints x 10. On the tread. Oh boy. It stinks that I won't be at Thursdays or Saturdays runs either! I plan to do both on my own though. Ugh. The 11 miles will be hard alone, but I am more worried about figuring out when I can actually get it in on Friday. Either then or Saturday after Matt gets home from work. Decisions, decisions. Both days will be cold as ever so.......
I also used the rowing machine for a full 10 minutes. That thing is hard! I normally only go for 5 minutes...now I know why! I hope to be able to row more than once a week now. I like it!

Thursday, January 21, 2010

Thursday!

Today was full body circuits. It was the same workout as I posted Tuesday, but I did 3x12. I also changed up a few things.
Instead of a basic split squat I did alternating reverse lunges. Instead of a BB row, I did a DB row. And instead of standard dead lifts, I did a wide stance dead. Those small changes can make a big difference in how the muscles are "worked" and it just makes it more interesting I think! I have a workout buddy as well. He ( yes, I said he!) makes lifting a lot more fun and he pushes me to lift heavier when I normally might have chosen a lighter weight. It's the whole competitive side that I can't tame! He needs guidance and accountability and I need the consistency, so things are working out for both of us. We have been pretty consistent ( one time I skipped due to who knows what, but he said he still lifted) for about 5 weeks now. I hope we can keep at it!
After lifting we do about 15 minutes of core. Today that included hip circles, leg lifts, and cat and cows. I threw in some stretching and yoga at the end that he was not too sure about, but did it because I told him to! HA!
I did not really feel like or have enough time to do my cardio at this time.
The kids and i went back later and I was able to do my HILL workout on the treadmill. It was not at all like taking on Manhattan Hill last Tuesday, but I still did it. 10 times up .10 of a mile and then back "down". Ugh. It was good though. Ugh. That took me roughly 35 minutes including the warm up and cool down.
I was able to make it to my beloved kickboxing class. I had not been to this gym or this class since before Christmas. The instructor as well as many participants made a big deal about seeing me again! How nice to be missed. I am officially a gym rat! So funny. I think they missed my kids more though! It was a great workout and I am sure my back will be letting me know just how great in the morning! I think I will try and make it back to this class next week too. I miss it and the peeps!

Friday--speed work on the dreaded treadmill...

So nice to be all done ( almost) with my workouts for the day!
I kind of impressed myself by getting up early to go and do my speed workout! I am unable to run with the club on Thursdays...so I asked a fellow clubber what the workout was.
They did a 1.6 mile warm up and cool down. In between that was some nonsense. 1 minute fast run followed by a 1 minute slower run...x8! I wish I could have been there with them for the motivation. But ya do what ya gotta do!
I did a 1.5 mile warm up (13 ish minutes). I stretched and then I did the workout. It was hard to figure out what speed to run at. I ended up going from 8.0 up to almost 10. It was hard ,but in a very gratifying fun way. Yea. I am weird. When I was done I stretched a bit and then ran a 1 mile cool down. I hopped on the elliptical for a very easy 15 minutes.
I am happy to say that I stretched again for a whole 13 minutes straight! I needed it too.
It was a great day. It's not over yet though. I have to teach Totally Toned at noon. I am not sure what I am going to do, so I best go and plan it now!

Thursday, January 7, 2010

Back at it...running that is! Weights and core too.

I woke up early to run on the treadmill today. I am not a big fan of treadmill running, but I don't like running in the dark and cold morning alone even more! I had to break in my new shoes. Mizuno- Wave Inspire 6. I called them pink, but Matt assured me they were indeed a salmon ( he is a fly fisherman!)
I was able to get in 5 good miles on the mill. Good enough for me. I then pretended to stretch for almost 10 whole minutes! I am just so impatient to take the time to stretch. I keep saying I need to do yoga--and it's true. I need to do it already!
I went home and got the kids ready an then went back to the gym to lift.
Today was:
4 sets of 8 reps

Squats (115#)
Pull ups

Bent over flyes (12# DBs)
Shoulder press ( 2x15#--2x20#)

Step ups ( 20#DBs)
Chest Press ( 2x20#--2x25#)

It went really well and fast too. I was about sick of the step ups today. I think it was holding the weights irritated my wrist/hands more than my legs hurting!

Core was next.
Hip series in reps of 15- 3 exercises
Plank circles on stability ball- 3 sets
Lower back series reps of 15- 3 sets with isometric holds at the end( ouchie)
Cat and Cow-- 5

Today was a great day!

Thursday-Long cardio and weights

I was one of the crazies up and at the gym by 5 AM to take the 5:30 AM Power Spin class. It was all about muscle endurance this morning. It was fun! After class I ran on the treadmill for about 2 miles. Running is feeling good again (YAY!).
I did a quick upper body circuit with 30 second rest in between sets:
4x10
Push ups ( various types)
1 Arm Row (20#)
Triceps Ext. ( 20#)

I did straight sets for legs:
3x10
Romanian DL's ( 12lb weights + step)
Walking Lunges ( 12lb weights)
Squats ( 95#)

It went pretty well for going in with no real plan of action. I was not sure how I would feel or what. I felt great though!

Sunday.....weights and cardio!

Sunday is usually hit or miss with me and the gym. Today it was a hit. I needed it too.
I ran on the treadmill and i did not hate it entirely! I planned on going for 6 miles, but am happy with the 4 I put it. I have to get used to running on it again I guess. The good news is I had my new iPod Shuffle to use today!! Merry Christmas to me! Matt usually gives me my gift early. I am not complaining! It's sweet! After the 4 miles I did a funky weight workout. No rhyme or reason, just needed to lift something!
3 sets of 10:
Bent over flyes
DB Incline chest press
Squats
Lunges
Elliptical intervals for 20 minutes. Hard ones too. I was whooped!

pull ups at home: 5x1 ( yahoo...finally!!) 4x2, 3x1
